My first Barossa Wine Show

I am so lucky and honoured that Steve and Neil would give me this opportunity to attend the Barossa Wine Show Presentation dinner as one of the members of Prowine.

I've only joined Prowine a month ago, as their new marketing officer and will be assisting Prowine in social media engagement and website enrichment, building relationships and improving communications between Prowine and our potential Chinese clients with my Chinese mother tongue and background. I came to Adelaide 7 years ago for my studies, and have completed Bachelor and Masters in Commerce majoring in Marketing and Management. My first job was working at a small family owned radio communication business as admin and marketing and therefore the wine industry is completely new to me. I drink and appreciate wine occasionally and have always been interested in the industry, but I have no substantial knowledge about it and Prowine has been really helpful, patient and supportive to me and it has been a fruitful journey so far.

The 38th Barossa Wine Show last night at Wolf Blass & Treasury Wine Estates is one of the most important events in the Barossa wine region. All wine makers have been working really hard throughout the year for this moment because this is a celebration and recognition of some of the best producers of Barossa's wine.

The setting is very welcoming, together with medal winning wine from the region, fine food by Salters Restaurant, and great atmosphere, we can't ask for more. People in the industry are very nice and easy to get along with, this is one of the reasons why I've enjoyed working in the wine industry so far.

The Barossa Wine Show this year has awarded 54 Gold, 98 Silver and 196 Bronze medals from 593 exhibits. To continuously contribute and show our support to the Barossa wine region, Prowine this year has sponsored The Prowine Trophy, for the Best Dry White Semillon Class 3 and Peter Lehmann Wines' 2012 Margaret Semillon has earned the trophy and congratulations. We would also like to congratulate our client Dutschke Wines who won the AP John Coopers Trophy - Best Dry Red Cabernet Sauvignon Class 13 - with their 2012 Sami Cabernet which was bottled and packaged at Prowine.

Again, producing a bottle of good wine is never an easy job, it takes a lot of time, labour, patience, passion, research and technology, etc. That's where Prowine comes in to take care of the stress of wine bottling and packaging for wine makers, leaving them worry-free so they will have more time and capacity to produce even better wines for the region.

I would like to once again congratulate all trophy winners in the Barossa Wine Show this year on behalf of Prowine.
